St. Michael’s Higher Secondary School, institution code (H.S.) : 101368(Morning Section), under the aegis of The Esplanade St. Michael Educational Society, was established in 2012 as an English Medium, co-educational independent and self-financed Higher Secondary School with recognition from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education.

St. Michael’s Academy has also been granted recognition by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education as a Co-Educational Higher Secondary School to be run during the Day Section with institution

ADMISSION

Any student who has passed the Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent examination may be admitted into class XI (Arts , Commerce & Science), within the date as stipulated by the H.S. Council.

All documents as mentioned in Admission Form, available at school office must be submitted at the time of submission of the form.

TESTS, EXAMINATIONS & REPORTS

The School follows the scheme of Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) throughout the year to assess the student’s academic progress. Evaluated answer scripts are sent home for counter-signature by the parents. All tests / examinations are held as per guidelines of W.B.C.H.S.E.

Pupils absent on the day of distribution of Reports, will be entitled to receive the Report only after a formal written request is made by the parents / guardians.

Promotion and selection of students for being sent-up for Higher Secondary Examination shall be decided by the School Authority strictly in accordance with the regulations as laid down by W.B.C.H.S.E. for the purpose. The decision made on the basis and in accordance with relevant rules, in force, shall be final and binding.

There will be no revision or reconsideration of answer scripts except in case were an error of any kind is detected.

Students using “unfair means” will not be allowed to seat for any further examination and his / her entire examination will stand cancelled; the student may even be expelled from school.

Any attempt on the part of the students and / or their parents or guardians to exert any kind of influence or pressure for promotion or for sending up their wards, who have failed to qualify themselves in the relevant examination, will not only be of no effect but may tend to prejudice their case. However, when a genuine error is detected the case may be reconsidered.

 
CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINE
 
1 ) Every student must abide by the rules of the school.
2 ) Use of cell phone is strictly prohibited inside the classroom.
3 ) Students are to strictly follow the decorum of public behaviour and avoid the use of abusive language and indecent manners in all their interactions. Anybody flouting the Norms of Conduct is liable to be expelled from school.
4 ) Any change of address must immediately be notified in writing to the Principal / Teacher-in-Charge / Rector.
5 ) Loitering in the corridors / in front of the school gate, during school hours, strictly prohibited.
6 ) It is essential that all Rules & Regulations enforced at the time of admission and subsequently issued from time to time be strictly and rigidly observed by students.
7 ) Disfiguring of walls, furniture or any of the property of the school with writing or in any other manner will be viewed with grave concern and may result imposition of fine and / or suspension from classes.
 
GUIDELINES FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS
 
Parents / guardians are invited to communicate with the Principal / Teacher-in-Charge / Rector personally or by letter on any matter concerning the welfare of their wards. Interview should be arranged over telephone as it is impossible for the Principal / Teacher-in-Charge / Rector to interview parents who call on their without prior appointment.

All parents are requested to extend their kind co-operation in running the school by enforcing regularity and discipline and by taking an interest in their ward’s academic progress and conduct.
